Native Nebraskan and United States Naval Academy graduate, Jacob Wolff has served the last five years as a Naval Officer in various assignments around the world. As a Civil Engineer Corps (Seabee) Officer, he had the privilege of managing government facilities and funds, ever cautious of how a taxpayer’s dollars were spent. He also had the honor of leading Sailors in high-risk diving operations around the world, from places such as Greenland, Tunisia, and Cyprus. However, the most challenging missions that Jacob recalls was his time leading a refugee camp after the botched Afghanistan withdrawal in August of 2021.
Jacob’s time in the Navy taught him that the greatest leaders are those with a servant’s heart. He often found himself reflecting on the story of Travis Manion, a US Marine and Naval Academy Alum who was killed in Iraq in 2007. When asked why he volunteered to serve another deployment, Travis responded, “If not me, then who?”. This has been a guiding principle throughout Jacob’s service.
Jacob grew up with two older sisters in a Christian family. All three kids attended a small Lutheran grade school and then went on to attend Roncalli Catholic High School, where Jacob would graduate as Valedictorian. During his time at Roncalli, Jacob was heavily involved in a multitude of activities. It wasn’t unusual to see him anywhere and everywhere – from the football field, to the wrestling mat, to the theater stage, and even to different local nonprofit organizations around the city.
Service to community and a drive for a sense of purpose catapulted Jacob into local Nebraska politics as a teenager. He volunteered to help candidates as a way to preserve the opportunities given to our ancestors and to build a sustainable future together. This passion for serving others is what led him to join the US Navy.
Jacob met his wife, Brittany, while stationed in Florida. He credits her as his ‘rock’ – holding down the home fort during his deployments and always supporting him as he followed his conscience, even though his superiors may have said differently.
As his Naval career came to a close, they had multiple, long conversations about their next chapter, settling down, and raising a family.
Since the day he left for the Navy, there was only ever one place on his mind: Home.
Now that Jacob has returned home, he intends to continue his service and the oath he took to defend our Constitution against all
enemies – foreign and domestic. He sees the encroachment of Washington and the progressivism of the Left in Nebraska, and he feels a sense of duty to protect his fellow Nebraskans from the very plague that he saw infect the Navy.
In April 2024, Jacob and Brittany welcomed their first child, a baby girl they named Theodora.
As a 5th Generation Nebraskan raising the 6th, Jacob believes not only is it his duty, but also his privilege, to defend what his ancestors founded.
As a state senator, Jacob will be your first line of defense in Lincoln – your guard against Weaponized Government.
